EFCC has not announced a date for its 2026 recruitment shortlist. The online application window opened on October 23, 2026 and closed on November 1, 2026, and the Commission says it is now reviewing applications. When the shortlist is ready, it will be published on the recruitment portal at recruitment.efcc.gov.ng and shortlisted candidates will be notified by email.
If you applied and are refreshing the portal every hour, here is what is confirmed, what is not, and what to do while you wait. Any website that gives you an exact shortlist date is guessing, so use only the official portal for the real result.
This guide covers the current status, the four cadres and their requirements, how to check your status, the stages after the shortlist, and the scams that target waiting applicants. Here is everything you need to know.
Quick Answer: When Will the EFCC Shortlist Be Released?
No official date has been announced. Applications closed on November 1, 2026, and the Commission’s next step is reviewing applications, followed by shortlisting, then screening dates. Screening dates will be announced after the shortlist is released.
Latest Update
- October 23, 2026: the Commission announced the exercise and the portal opened.
- November 1, 2026: the portal closed to new applications.
- Now: applications are being reviewed against the age and qualification requirements for each cadre.
- Next: the shortlist will be published on the portal, shortlisted candidates will get an email, and screening dates will follow.
How to Check Whether You Were Shortlisted
- Go to the official portal, recruitment.efcc.gov.ng.
- Log in with the email and password you used when you applied.
- Open your dashboard and look for your application or shortlist status.
- Check your email inbox and spam folder. Shortlisted applicants will also be notified by email.
- Do not use third-party “shortlist checker” sites.
The portal sign-up page asked applicants to enter their name, email address, NIN, date of birth and phone number exactly as they appear on their NIN. If your details do not match, you may have problems at a later stage.
What Happens After the Shortlist
The Commission has confirmed the next steps up to screening. It has not published the full later stages, so the points below are what is confirmed and what is not:
- Review of applications (in progress)
- Publication of the shortlist on the portal and email notification
- Screening dates announced after the shortlist
- Later stages, such as a test, are not described in the official information I reviewed. Some websites say a computer-based test will follow, but that is not confirmed.
Final
The EFCC shortlist has no announced date, so patience and the official portal are your best tools. Log in to recruitment.efcc.gov.ng, keep your documents ready, and ignore anyone who sells a shortlist.
Bookmark this page, share it with someone who is waiting, and subscribe to our recruitment alerts so you hear about the shortlist and screening dates as soon as they are published.
