Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) takes job applications through one online system, recruitment.customs.gov.ng, and at the time of writing no application window for 2026/2027 has opened. The Service’s most recent activity was the final screening update for its 2025 exercise, which closed at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, 10 May 2026.
If you keep seeing “annual recruitment” and wondering whether the form is out, the short answer is that it is not, and the word “annual” needs care. This article explains what the portal is, how NCS decides when to recruit, who qualifies, and what to do now so you are ready.
Which cadre would you apply for, and what do you need on hand before the portal opens? Let’s unpack it.
What Is the Nigeria Customs Service Annual Recruitment Portal?
The NCS annual recruitment portal is the Service’s official online platform for receiving job applications, at recruitment.customs.gov.ng. Applicants create a profile, choose a cadre, fill in an online form and upload documents. The same platform is used to check shortlisting, and the Service has used a separate address, updates.customs.gov.ng, for the final screening update stage of the 2025 exercise.
Note: The portal is not open all year. It becomes active when the Service announces a recruitment exercise.

Does the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Recruit Every Year?
No. Despite the phrase “annual recruitment” used in search results, NCS does not follow a fixed yearly calendar. It recruits when it has vacancies to fill, and a new exercise usually starts only after the previous one has been completed.
The 2025 exercise shows why. Its final screening update did not close until May 2026, with the final interview and physical screening still to follow. A new application window therefore depends on when that process finishes and when the Service announces fresh vacancies.
